Code Tenderloin

Code Tenderloin is a community-driven program focused on breaking down barriers to employment by offering free job readiness and tech training, networking opportunities, and essential family services. Since its founding in 2015, Code Tenderloin has served over 18,000 community members, helping hundreds of individuals gain a sense of community, find housing, and realize their potential. By providing free job training, career support, and essential resources, Code Tenderloin empowers individuals to overcome employment barriers and achieve lasting personal and professional growth.

Glide Memorial

GLIDE is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to advancing social justice, addressing systemic inequities, and breaking cycles of poverty. By offering comprehensive support services, engaging in advocacy, and fostering an inclusive community, GLIDE helps individuals and families achieve stability and flourish. With a mission to create a compassionate, just, and inclusive community, GLIDE tackles urgent issues like poverty and racial justice, guided by values of empowerment, recovery, and personal transformation.

Gubbio Project

The Gubbio Project offers a safe and compassionate sanctuary for unhoused individuals seeking daytime respite. Each day, guests receive essential provisions such as blankets, socks, hygiene kits, and referrals to additional resources. At St. John’s the Evangelist, the project distributes around 150 blankets and 100 pairs of socks each month, along with weekly hygiene kits that include shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap, providing dignity and care for those in need.

UCSF Black Health Initiative

The Black Health Initiative at UCSF was launched in the fall of 2020 to strengthen partnerships with the Black community and address health disparities, especially those exacerbated by COVID-19. This initiative prioritizes community voices and fosters sustainable, non-transactional partnerships to uplift Black health, wellness, and prosperity. Key efforts include facilitating restorative engagements, amplifying community-led efforts, providing paid consultation opportunities to incorporate Black perspectives into UCSF’s work, developing workforce pathways, and building a pipeline for future Black healthcare professionals and researchers.

UCSF Citywide

The Division of Citywide Case Management Programs offers five Intensive Case Management (ICM) Programs and various recovery support services, such as employment assistance, peer support, and substance use disorder treatment. These programs serve adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use, aiming to support recovery while reducing hospitalizations, incarcerations, and homelessness. Multidisciplinary teams provide comprehensive services like individual and group therapy, medication management, crisis intervention, and community-based support.

 

Umoja Health

Founded in 2020 by the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, Umoja Health is a community-led coalition dedicated to advancing health equity across Alameda, San Francisco, and San Mateo counties. The coalition provides vital services such as COVID-19 vaccination, testing, and screenings for conditions like cardiovascular risk, diabetes, and colon cancer. Umoja Health also combats misinformation through stakeholder communications and strengthens the future healthcare workforce by offering volunteer and training opportunities. Built on 17 years of trusted community relationships, Umoja Health amplifies local voices and holds public health institutions accountable for advancing equity.
